If I’m being honest, I almost didn’t take my camera with me that morning. My daughter needed a ride to school, and dragging myself and the dog out of the house before this sudden change of plans wasn't on the list of things to do. Before she asked me for a ride I had noticed the thick fog outside in the woods and thought to myself, "I should really get out to Oak Grove and get some shots, this is perfect cemetery photo weather." So I decided to turn an inconvenience into a creative outlet and I’m awfully glad I did. While she was finishing getting ready I switched lenses on my Sony A7CII to the Tamron 35-150mm F/2-2.8, grabbed my monopod, then Moose (our dog), our daughter, and I headed toward drop off, after which Moose and I headed over to Oak Grove Cemetery.

There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over a cemetery on a foggy autumn morning. The light is soft and diffused, the colors of turning leaves seem to glow rather than shine, and the old stone monuments take on an almost otherworldly presence. What started as a reluctant errand turned into one of my favorite shoots of the season, and I’m excited to finally share the results as my first print collection. This set of ten images captures Oak Grove Cemetery in that brief, magical window, fog threading between headstones and trees, organge foliage and glowing sun against old and new tombstones, and the kind of stillness that’s hard to find anywhere else.

Why prints, and why now?

Photography has always been more than a business for me, it's my creative outlet and how I find beauty in unexpected places. Creativety is also a meditation for mehas, it can even get me out a bad moode, it certainly did on this particular morning. Opening a print shop felt like a natural next step: a way to let these images live outside my computer screen and become something you can actually hold, hang, and live with.

Every print is produced on professional-grade fine art archival paper that has a matte finish with excellent image sharpness and optimal color density and gradation. With print sizes starting at 8x12 up to 30x45, so you can find the right fit whether it’s a small accent piece or a statement piece for a larger wall, these prints are not matted or framed so you can choose the right for for your particular space. If you'd rather not have to worry about a frame I'm also offering mounted prints on Lustre paper that provides vibrant colors on a black standout that contains pre-drilled holes making them easy to hang, available in sizes from 8x12 to 24x36.
